RUTLAND, Vt. — A federal trial has been scheduled for two New York men accused of operating a large-scale drug organization in Vermont and Maine.
Gary Delima and Sharif Cargo face charges including conspiracy to distribute narcotics, money laundering and trafficking children for sex.
The Rutland Herald reports the trial for the men is scheduled to begin Oct. 24 in Rutland. The trial is scheduled to last 20 days.
Delima and Cargo were arrested March 2015 in Auburn at a location that’s believed to be one of their bases of operation.
Authorities say Delima and Cargo sold drugs to local customers and dealers and sent the proceeds to New York City.
Delima’s attorney didn’t return a call seeking comment.
Cargo’s attorney Thomas Sherrer said he had no comment.
