DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all your information and help to all of us. I know that you have answered these questions before, but I didn’t need them at that time and didn’t write them down. I’m sorry.

I am having to move quickly and won’t have room for my large collection of salt and pepper shakers, some from other countries, and also some very pretty English bone China teacups and saucers.

I also have quite a lot of “good songs,” the kind we used to hear, sheet music that I would like to sell. Do you have names of folks who buy any of these things in your folders now? Thanks very much. — Ruth, South Paris.

ANSWER: Your best bet for finding a buyer for these types of collections might be a good consignment shop or auction house. There are a few of these around. Try contacting Charles M. Talbot Associates at 55 Poplar Hill Road in Turner to see if they have an interest in any of your items for an upcoming auction. You can reach them by calling (207) 225-3797 or by emailing cta@ctaauctions.com. You might also reach out to other local auction houses, including McMorrow Auction Co. in Poland, which you can reach by calling (207) 777-7030; or Ronald A. Riendeau Auction Services in Topsham, which you can reach by calling (207) 729-3472.

Another option is selling your items yourself on an online auction site such as eBay or Craigslist, but before you do that, you may want to have the items appraised so you know what to ask. Most auction companies, like those listed above, are able to assist with that as well.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I found a piece of camera equipment in a case here by Roak Block, on the sidewalk. If you lost this please call me at (207) 754-8668. You must be able to tell me what is in the case to get it back. Thank you. — Leta, No Town.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Two days ago, on my way home from work, I hit a pothole on my road and discovered hours later that my front wheel cover was gone. A neighbor had seen it on the side of the road, but when I went to look for it, it was gone. I made a “LOST” sign and put it out on my lawn hoping someone on my road might have found it. This morning, someone left it standing up against my sign. Whoever you are, thank you. I appreciate it very much. — Betsy, No Town.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Temple Historical Society and the Recreation Committee have put together an afternoon of fun at the Red Schoolhouse to bring the people of Temple together to visit with their neighbors and to get acquainted with new people who have recently moved to our community. On Saturday, Aug. 20, from noon to 3 p.m., there will be a baked bean/potluck luncheon with beans, hot dogs, dessert, and drinks; you bring a side dish to share.

Our local fire department, fireman’s Auxiliary, and ATV club are assisting in getting everything to the Red Schoolhouse where the event will be held.  In case of rain, this event will be moved to the Temple Town Hall.
