FARMINGTON — Robin’s Flower Pot will hold a benefit garden party for Literacy Volunteers from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the nursery on Webster Road.

Local authors will discuss their writing, and there will be tai chai and square dancing demonstrations. Music will be provided by The Merry Plinksters and Eddie Youen, who will play Chinese music on erhu and flute. There will also be a petting zoo, massage therapy, wine and beer tasting, and a homemade salsa contest.

There will be hourly door prize drawings and a free book table by Literacy Volunteers Travelling Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Suggested donation is $20 for adults and $5 for children younger than 18.
