LEWISTON — Center Street Dental in Auburn is moving to Lewiston and will be renamed.
Maple Way Dental Care will open early next year on Canal Street. Renovations at the former Camden National Bank branch at 110 Canal St. began several weeks ago.
“I’m very excited and the whole staff is excited, too,” said Rose Sheline, who owns the practice. “We’ve been looking forward to it.”
The move will double the size of the office and add more parking spaces.
“The new space offers an opportunity where we can grow more,” she said. “Also, it’s in downtown Lewiston — downtown Lewiston continues to develop and thrive.”
The practice has close to 20 employees and two dentists, including Sheline. It will gradually add about 10 more employees after the move, and one more dentist.
Center Street Dental owns its current space at 26 Cross St., just off Center Street in Auburn. Sheline said she wasn’t sure whether that building would be leased or sold.
She didn’t anticipate a gap in patient care when she makes the move.
As for the new name, Sheline said, “Canal Street is lined by beautiful maple trees. We think the new name speaks to the growth and revitalization of what’s happening downtown. I think it’s perfect.”
