Turner defeated Winthrop 8-2, behind the dominating pitching of Brain Hewitt, who pitched a complete game, with 15 strikeouts, to become 2016 Apple Valley Babe Ruth Champions. Turner who finished the season as the No. 3 seed with a 10-5 record for the year, finished the season with a 3-0 post season run. Cole Morin for Turner went 2-for-3 in the championship game with an RBI, and scoring twice himself. While Ryan Baird and Greg Fay combined for a pair of hits for Winthrop.

Turner 10, Monmouth 2

Turner wins in Monmouth with a 10-2 victory behind the pitching of David Herman, who had 15 strikeouts in seven innings. Austin Decoster and Eli Lind for Turner, both had a pair of hits, scoring three of Turner’s 10 runs between the two. Trevor Flanagan had a pair of hits for Monmouth, knocking in both of their runs.

Apple Valley Babe Ruth Quarter Finals

Turner 2, Sabuttus 1

Turner outlasts Sabattus in 2-1, pitching duel between Turners Mark Herman Jr. And Sabattus’ Casey Dion. Both pitchers went the distance with a game deciding single, scoring two runs in the fifth inning, by Turner’s Brian Hewitt.  Ethan Barnett had a pair of hits and scored Sabattus’ only run.
