AUBURN — Northern New England coffee sellers Aroma Joe’s will bring their brews to Center Street sometime this fall.
Allison Goodridge, construction manager for the company, said a project to build a 3,000-square-foot retail shop with two storefronts at 166 Center St. is out to bid right now.
Aroma Joe’s will be the largest of those storefronts.
“It will be a complete coffee shop with a drive-through attached,” Goodridge said. “We’re hoping to be ready in the fall.”
Property ownership group Pinstripes LLC, based in South Portland, is looking for contractors to build the retail building just south of Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant, with room for two businesses, according to Patrick Boothe of Caleb Johnson Architects and Builders. That project received a building permit from the city of Auburn on June 17.
Goodridge said Aroma Joe’s will take up a little over half of the whole building. Boothe said another retailer, not yet identified, will go in the second space.
Aroma Joe’s operates coffee shops throughout New Hampshire and Maine, including shops in Norway and Lisbon, and sells a variety of hot and iced coffees, lattes, espressos and other drinks.
Goodridge said the company is taking bids as well for a contractor to finish the details of the shop’s interior once the building is done.
