DIXFIELD – Residents voted Tuesday to approve a $2.31 million municipal budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year, Town Manager Carlo Puiia said Wednesday.
“The biggest increases came in the reserve accounts,” he said. “The Board of Selectmen placed $50,000 toward a townwide revaluation. In 2015, they established the account and funded $20,000.”
One of the biggest decreases in the municipal budget was the Public Works department, which decreased from $536,270 to $482,078.
Puiia said that he was “very pleased” to see that the municipal budget pass on the first try.
“I think it shows that people are happy with the proposals that we’re putting forth,” he said.
