LEWISTON — The first in the Workforce Development Series, HR Thursdays, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, 415 Lisbon St.

The series is for all employers, whether they have an HR person or not. It represents a partnership between the chamber, Central Maine Human Resource Association and the Lewiston CareerCenter.

The topic will be “Hiring for Your Best Fit: Screening to On-Boarding and Everything In-between” with Jay Casavant, Vantage Point Recruiting.

“Hiring for Your Best Fit” is all about understanding the need or painting a picture of what you would like to see in your new hires. Casavant will cover the search and screening, interview and selection process. Onboarding and retention efforts will also be discussed.

To register, go to: http://business.lametrochamber.com/ and click on Events. The workshop is free for members of the Central Maine Human Resource Association; $25 for chamber members; and $50 for nonmembers.
