AUBURN — H.E. Callahan Construction Co., one of Maine’s oldest general contractors, has been sold to former employee Christine Kendall.
Kendall acquired the 68-year-old company in November, and the announcement was made earlier this week.
According to a statement from the company, Kendall brought with her a “full-service property management team and a book of construction business.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Christine return to the company. This solidifies H.E. Callahan’s next chapter,” former owners Jeff Ohler and John Blanchard said in the statement.
Among other projects, H.E. Callahan is putting the finishing touches on a $3.2 million addition and renovation at the Bangor Public Library and working on a $23 million redevelopment of the former Augusta Hospital — now the Ballard Center — in Augusta.
The statement said H.E. Callahan will continue to serve its core client groups — medical, commercial, civil and industrial — while also offering property management services.
Kendall, a Maine native, is LEED-certified and has a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
The company’s corporate offices are on Route 4 in Auburn.
