1940 – 2016

AUBURN — Madeleine B. Theriault, 75, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Saturday evening, June 4, at Clover Manor with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 6, 1940, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Gloria (Simoneau) Nadeau. She attended Lewiston schools before going to work at Raytheon Semiconductor and then went to work for the Head Start program for 15 years before retiring in 2005.

On Sept. 15, 1962, she married the love of her life, Paul Theriault. They worked and lived in Lewiston while raising their five children. Paul passed away in 2010.

Madeleine was a member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish and belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed bowling, playing beano, pokeno, doing puzzles and listening to music. Her greatest love in life, though, was her family, especially caring for her grandchildren.

Madeleine is survived by her five children, Danny Theriault and his wife, Melissa, of Lewiston, David Theriault of Lewiston, Louise Dodge and her husband, Thomas, of Lewiston, Glenn Theriault and companion, Stephanie Lemieux, of Turner, and Christine Theriault and companion, Matt Ferguson, of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Troy, Ryan, Taylor, Destinee, Shayla, Halie, Grady and Kendall; one great-grandson, Roscoe; three brothers, Maurice, Gerry and Ray Nadeau; six sisters, Anita Bedard, Claudette Vallaincourt, Marianne Bergeron, Lorraine Fournier, Theresa Bourgoin and Jackie Demers; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Paul Theriault; two sisters, Doris Thibodeau and Sylvia Morin; her son-in-law, Ray Boucher; and brother-in-law, Adrien Theriault.

The family would like to thank the hospice caretakers of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, especially Margaret and Michelle. They would also like to thank the staff at Clover Manor, especially Vicky Black of Carlow Place.

We invite you to share your thoughts and fond memories with the Theriault family at www.thefortingroupauburn.com.
