BRUNSWICK — Louise M. “Weze” Krise, 56, of Lewiston passed away after a brief illness Saturday, May 28, at Mid Coast Hospital.
Louise was born Oct. 23, 1959, in Hartford, Conn., daughter of the late Aylene Krise. Louise enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies, feline fur babies, cooking and handcrafts, and she was an avid Pinterest user.
Louise’s entire working career was devoted to stitching in the textile industry, including Congress Sportswear, Fancy Stitchers, Healthtex and more than 25 years at L.L.Bean, making L.L.Bean’s world-famous boots and dog beds.
She graciously volunteered her exceptional talents, creating formal wear, costumes and accessories for family and friends. Louise’s special dishes were frequently requested for family gatherings and she was always the first to offer to help.
Louise was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Krise; and her dear “auntie,” Willa Elwell.
She is survived by her son, Todd Lewis and his wife, Kim, of Lewiston; daughter, Meghan Lewis, graduate student in Wuhan, China; and stepson, Matthew Lewis of Rochester, N.Y.; her precious grandbabies, James and Noah Lewis; sisters, Janet Cole and her husband, Buddy, of Orlando, Fla., Brenda Walborn and her husband, Bill, of Millerstown, Pa., Jacki Locke and her husband, Craig, of Sidney; brothers, George Krise and his wife, Carol, of Rockland and Brian Krise of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Bette Krise of South Portland; 10 dearly loved nieces and nephews; her lifelong best friend, Ellie Eramo of Brunswick; and her cats, Fergus and Panda.
