RUMFORD — The National Rural Health Association recently named Rumford Hospital a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in Quality Performance.

The hospital scored best among critical access hospitals based on iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index for Quality and is ranked in the Top 20 out of 1,300+ rural and critical access hospitals throughout the United States.

The determining factors were based on nine indices of strength, including inpatient market share, outpatient market share, population risk, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives and financial stability. For quality, iVantage rated hospital performance based on the percentile rank across the five categories of Hospital Compare Process of Care measures.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” said Brock Slabach, NRHA membership services senior vice president. “And we’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”

An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Mo.
