1927 – 2016
LEWISTON — Lelia “Lee” Grace (Conant) Moody, 89, formerly of Turner, died Saturday, May 28, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, where she had resided the past few months.
Lee and her twin brother were born March 25, 1927, in Turner Center, to the late Frank and Donna (Walker) Conant. She lived most of her life in Turner, graduating in 1944 from Edward Little High School in Auburn and then worked at First Auburn Trust Co.
She married William F. Moody on Sept. 6, 1946, and they enjoyed 53 years together. Following his death in 1999, she lived a couple of years in St. Petersburg, Fla., before returning to Turner. She was an active, lifelong member of Turner Village Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Legere and husband, Fred, of Statesville, N.C., Jane Fortin and husband, Steve, of Turner, Janet Moody and partner, Laura, of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Scott Moody and wife, Lara, of Nashua, N.H., Bill Legere and wife, Teresa, of Auburn, Jennifer Lauze and husband, Dan, of Auburn, Angela Fortin St. Pierre and partner, Shawn, of Livermore, Janelle Mitchell and husband, Justin, of Statesville, N.C., 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Conant and wife, Donna, of Plattsburg, N.Y., Merton Conant and wife, Sally, of Auburn; sisters, Thelma Nickerson and husband, Roy, of Turner, Verna Hathaway of Greene, and Cleo Sopka of Owego, N.Y.
In addition to her parents, Lee is predeceased by her husband, Bill Moody; son, Bruce Moody; grandson, Jonathan Fortin; great-granddaughter, Grace Legere; brothers, Francis, Harold and, her twin, Richard Conant; sisters, Edna Alden and Roxa Dawn Conant.
