ROXBURY — Two men were arrested on heroin charges Thursday as law enforcement officers prepared to search a home on Main Street for drugs.
Jeremy Belskis, 29, of Roxbury was the focus of a heroin trafficking investigation when officers from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Mexico and Rumford Police departments secured a search warrant, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were about to execute a search warrant at his home at 70 Main St. when they him in a vehicle, according to the statement. They stopped the vehicle and took him into custody without incident.
The driver, Jarrod Chessie, 32, of Mexico, had heroin in his possession, according to the statement.
Officers found $1,395 in cash, 2.4 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of heroin and 8.9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms on the men and in the home, according to the statement.
Chessie was charged with possession of heroin and taken to the Rumford Police Department. He was released on bail.
Belskis was charged with trafficking in heroin and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris. He is being held on $5,000 cash bail.
