ANSWER: The most important step to keeping the sweat off your deviled eggs when they’re in the fridge happens before you even put them in there. Make sure to completely cool your eggs before refrigerating them. Chill your hard boiled eggs prior to even stuffing them. When you put the eggs away, it’s also helpful to line the bottom of your container with a paper towel.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The aloe vera plants are ready again. The “Aloe Vera Lady” left us on Feb. 28 at the age of 94. She loved her plants and the wonderful people she met as they came to collect them. She would be excited to meet new friends — several of whom came back each time to visit with her. Ma had hoped to be here to give her plants away one more time, and even had her note to you prepared. We have a lot of them, and they are free. If possible, we would like to have people come on Wednesday, May 18, from noon to 5 p.m. Please call for “Aloe Vera Lady” at (207) 784-4278 for directions. Thank you Sun Spots Lady for all you do to keep people connected. You are appreciated. — Judy, Lewiston.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to thank you for all the help your column has given me in the past. I appreciate it. I am looking for a 1968 Lewiston High School year book that I would be willing to purchase at a reasonable price. Also, I have some old stamps that I would like to get valued if you know a place I can take them. I can be reached at (207) 998-2974. Thank you. — Lynn, No Town.

ANSWER: Sun Spots is happy to be of assistance, and good luck on your yearbook search. As for your stamps, you might bring them with you to the Brunswick Coin and Stamp Club’s next Coin and Stamp Show on Sunday, July 10, at Brunswick’s Knights of Columbus Hall at 2 Columbus Drive, beginning at 9 a.m. and running to 2:30 p.m. The show has dozens of vendors and dealers. Otherwise, M.A. Storck Company at 651 Forest Ave. in Portland offers stamp appraisals. You can reach them by calling 1-800-734-7271.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to take this opportunity to express my feelings on the ICU and its staff at St. Mary’s hospital. I recently ended up there for a six-day stay in ICU. The care I received was above and beyond any I have ever received in any hospital, and I’ve been in many.

The staff, from the cleaning ladies to dietary and physical therapy, all were cheerful and kind all of the time. The nurses deserve the highest praise for being the most caring, knowledgeable, helpful and professional workers I have ever dealt with. I came home from there feeling I had made friends with each and every one of them. There was one who went above and beyond her duties and who was extra special to me, and she knows who she is. My best regards. — Patricia, Mexico.

ANSWER: Well, Patricia, Sun Spots is sure happy that you seem to be feeling better than you must have been when you had to go to the ICU. Good to know you had such a pleasant experience.
