ROCKWOOD — Maine wardens say they have located the body of a missing 80-year-old fisherman in Brassua Lake.

Authorities say the search for Richard Weymouth of Rockwood began Friday, after family members called to say they hadn’t seen him since he left to go fishing on Thursday.

Family and friends located his car near the south branch of Brassua Stream and a search of the area turned up some of his fishing gear.

Warden Will Shuman, piloting a motorboat Friday afternoon, found a body wardens have tentatively identified as Weymouth’s in the lake.

The body was taken to the Maine Medical Examiner’s office for positive identification.
