My property directly borders the property recently purchased by Central Maine Power at 1228 Main St., East Wilton. Aside from possible health effects from EMFs with the proposed electrical substation, I am also very concerned about property devaluation.
I have spent much time speaking to neighbors, Wilton Town Manager Rhonda Irish, Selectperson Tiffany Maiuri, Code Enforcement Officer Roger Williams, property assessor Paul Binette, Sen. Tom Saviello, Rep. Russell Black, Ann Brooks of CMP’s consumer affairs department, Gail Rice of CMP’s community relations, Darryl Speed, project manager of the proposed substation, a local real estate attorney, and two reporters from the Sun Journal. I feel that I was not given enough information specifically by CMP.
While I understand that there are meetings to be held in the community and that there is a process, i.e. concept to fruition, that does not allay my concerns.
History has shown repeatedly that when an entity as large as CMP wants something, it will eventually get it. You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.
