LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice presented seven individuals with Employee of the Year Awards at the agency’s gathering in April.
Each year, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice recognizes and honors employees who have made outstanding contributions to the agency throughout the year. The recipients were nominated by their peers for exemplifying one or more of the agency’s values — integrity, stewardship, accountability, compassion, quality and trust.
The award recipients are:
* Maureen Andrew, RN at the Hospice House. Whether it’s a patient who has not been able to eat and really wants to taste something special one last time, someone who wants to have a date night with their spouse, or someone who wants to visit their favorite place for the last time, Andrew “thinks outside the box” to make it happen.
Kathy Gould, hospice aide in the Wilton office, continually performs her duties with grace and quiet companionship. She does not hesitate to communicate with nurses on her team to alert them of situations needing attention. She gives astute, descriptive explanations that demonstrate her years of experience and dedication.
Anita Lane, RN in the Lewiston office, is known as a team member. She is a strong, consistent and professional communicator who is positive about challenges and changes. She has changed her schedule many times to accommodate the agency’s needs.
Diane Marcotte, RN in the Bridgton office, is the definition of a team player. She is calm in a crisis and is always willing to take on extra to help a co-worker. Her patients often ask for her by name if they have the need of agency services again. She also cares about the cohesiveness of her team, taking the initiative to advocate for a more unified team.
Ann Perkins, performance improvement coordinator in the Lewiston office, is often called upon to assist with or lead projects across functions and departments because of her skills in process improvement, innovation and collaboration. She approaches everything she does in a humble, patient-centered, objective and compassionate manner.
Chuck Smith, social worker on the community care team, has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the program since coming to the agency three years ago. He is very patient and works diligently to get his patients the maximum services and support that will help them live more successful lives.
Nina Sweet, RN on the hospice team, is committed to the needs of the patients and families. She is kind, calm, knowledgeable and dedicated to the growth and visibility of the hospice program.
Also honored was Linda Frechette, RN in Norway, who received the 2015 Recognition Hotline Award. She received several peer recognitions for consistently going above and beyond.
