AUBURN — On Wednesday, April 20, 2016, the Norway Savings Bank Arena and the Maine Winter Classic presented by United Insurance awarded The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital with a check for $8,000 to benefit Maine’s only full-service children’s hospital.
The Norway Savings Bank Arena was proud to host the third annual Maine Winter Classic presented by United Insurance. This special event showcased the senior all-stars from both Class A and B high school hockey programs.
This was the first year that United Insurance participated as the presenting partner for the event.
“We are pleased to partner with the Norway Savings Bank Arena as this event showcases some of Maine’s finest student athletes. Congratulations to all of the Class A and B high school hockey all-stars. You have made your schools, communities and families extremely proud. This event allows the participants and sponsors to make a contribution to The Barbara Bush Hospital which greatly impacts the children of Maine,” Chris Miller, Senior Vice President of United Insurance said.
Proceeds from the Maine Winter Classic, presented by United Insurance, help to fund programs and services- such as the newly-relocated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Over the past 10 years, support from community members such as United Insurance has helped to raise more than 70 percent of the $3.1 million needed for the PICU relocation.
The 4th Annual Maine Winter Classic presented by United Insurance will take place at the Norway Savings Bank Arena on March 27, 2017.
