1954 – 2016
AUBURN — Paul Andrew Sturtevant, 61, of Lewiston passed away peacefully with his sister at his side on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 1, 1954, the son of Andrew and Lillian (St. Clair) Sturtevant. He grew up attending Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1972.
Paul was in sales for most of his career, starting with Tweeter Etc. in Manchester, N.H. He loved boating and enjoyed several years of employment with Richardson’s Boat Yard and Marina in Standish. He lived in Wards Cove on Sebago Lake for many years with his then wife, Helena.
He had a soft place in his heart for dogs and enjoyed his time with Bear, Teddy, Honey and Piper. Paul was the “life of the party,” enjoyed lots of laughter and always wore a wide grin. He regularly hosted lively family gatherings that included boating, water-skiing, beach volleyball and raucous games of Trivial Pursuit.
He eventually relocated to Florida, residing in Port St. Lucie, to continue his career in boat sales and was employed by Marine Max. He returned to Lewiston in 2008 and was shortly thereafter diagnosed with early-onset dementia. He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish.
Paul is survived by his sister, Lorraine Poulin of Lewiston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Sylvia Simard and Constance Sturtevant.
His family would like to thank the staffs of Bolster Heights, Clover Manor and the Hospice House for their compassionate care of Paul.
