MEXICO and RUMFORD — Regional School Unit 10 is accepting preregistrations for kindergarten classes at Meroby Elementary School, 21 Cross St., Mexico, and Rumford Elementary School, 121 Lincoln Ave., Rumford.

Parents/guardians with children who will be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15 are asked to call their neighborhood school between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to preregister their child for kindergarten by May 1.

Formal registration and screening will take place at each school.

Meroby Elementary School will hold registration on Wednesday, May 18. Rumford Elementary School will hold registration on Wednesday, May 25, and Thursday, May 26. Parents should allow one hour for the appointment.

Parents should bring the following to the registration session: proof of residency, such as a lease agreement or utility bill; an original birth certificate from the town where the child was born, not the hospital; and immunization records.

Children currently in kindergarten will not attend school on the registration days.
