DENMARK — Thomas “Tom” Pingree, 65, of Denmark died unexpectedly, Friday, April 1, at his home in Denmark.
He was born on April 20, 1950, in Bridgton, the only child of Elwood Pingree and Elma (Pingree) Lord. He attended local schools, graduating from Fryeburg Academy in 1969. He went on to attend the Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in South Portland.
Tom worked as a mechanic his whole life, most recently at Casella Waste Systems/Pine Tree Waste in Mechanic Falls.
He was a past Denmark selectman and a member of the Western Maine Fish & Game in Harrison.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting, especially bird-hunting with his Brittany spaniels, Molly and Freckles.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Denmark; children, Mary Keaten of Fryeburg, Jason Pingree of Denmark and Julie Libby and her husband, Mark, of Denmark; six grandchildren, Jacob and Bethany Keaten, and Breanna, Jon, Garrett and Emily Libby; and a great-granddaughter, Riley Keaten.
He was predeceased by his parents.
