BIDDEFORD (AP) — A Biddeford man has been arrested in connection with a number of recent drug-related overdoses.
Police say 24-year-old Edward Estes has been charged with trafficking in scheduled drugs. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
Police say an investigation revealed that a batch of what people thought was heroin was actually mostly fentanyl, a powerful opioid that’s extremely dangerous when mixed with heroin.
As part of the ongoing investigation, police say they executed a search warrant at a home and found two more people with overdose symptoms.
They say more arrests are expected.
