1940 – 2016
TURNER — Allyre “Al” L. Jean, 75, of Turner died at his residence on Tuesday, March 29.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1940, in Coburn Gore, the son of Leon and Rose Alma (Vielleux) Jean. After high school, Al served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Navy as a master chief petty officer. He married Leola Banaitis on Oct. 9, 1993.
Al enjoyed working on cars, building and woodworking. He was a handyman who could fix anything and enjoyed fixing the neighbors’ broken stuff.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leola; son, Daniel Jean of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepchildren, Donna with husband, Kenny, Tracy, David and wife, Samantha; brother, Louis Jean; sisters, Carmen Smith and husband, Gordon, Nicole Rogers and Muriel Kilbride; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanna Jean; brother, Mark Jean; and his parents.
