KENNEBUNK — Benjamin Craig Barclay, 21, a resident of Fayette passed away Wednesday, March 23, at River Ridge Center in Kennebunk. Ben had been hospitalized due to injuries received in an automobile accident on Oct. 11, 2015.

He was born Sept. 7, 1994, in Lewiston, the son of Barry Barclay and Trudy (Wilkins) Barclay. Ben attended Fayette Central School and was a 2012 graduate of Maranacook Community High School. After high school, he attended the University of Maine in Augusta, and was studying at Central Maine Community College in Auburn at the time of his accident. Ben worked as a DJ for many events at Maranacook Community High School and Winthrop High School and volunteered at the Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum in Livermore Falls. Ben had recently assumed the responsibility for the family’s property management business.

Ben loved music, playing many instruments and working as a sound engineer. He was an accomplished photographer; from senior pictures for his friends to capturing all things beautiful around him. He was noted as being an amazing friend, classmate, technical wizard and musician. Ben enjoyed healthy eating; growing his own vegetables and turning them into spicy pickles of all kinds. Ben touched everyone he met, even in passing, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him. His kind, high spirit and beautiful mind will be missed, but his love and light will shine on us forever.

He is survived by his loving parents, Barry and Trudy Barclay of Fayette; paternal grandmother, June Barclay of Livermore Falls; maternal grandmother, Arlene Wilkins of Fayette; uncles, Scott Barclay of Jay and Craig Wilkins and wife Cynthia of North Carolina; aunts, Bev Tanaka and husband, Randy, Wendy Richards and husband, Gib, all from Hawaii, Cheryl Shuttleworth of Portland and Linda Wilkins and husband, Bob Dane, of Virginia.
