Some members of the U.S. Senate have indicated that they will, again, block President Barack Obama. Senators have a constitutional responsibility to confirm a Supreme Court justice nominated by the president.

However, the Republicans in power have stated that they will not even conduct hearings regarding the president’s nominee, Merrick Garland.

Garland should not be denied simply because the GOP’s feelings are hurt that Obama is president. Rather than doing their job, Republican members of Congress have spent the past seven years doing everything they can to block Obama initiatives.

It is time for them to get off their butts and do their job.
