LYMAN — State police say a 24-year-old woman is in critical condition after her car slammed into a tree in Lyman.

Police say Amber Desmond of Springvale is being treated at Maine Medical Center for her injuries. A passenger in the car was treated and released from a hospital.

Trooper Matt Williams says icy road conditions likely played a role in the Monday night crash. He says Desmond lost control of her car just after 9 p.m.
