LISBON — A driver and passenger were injured in a crash Saturday night when the motorcycle on which they were riding went off the road and hit a tree, according to a news release from the Lisbon Police Department.
Driver Linden Houle, 43, of Lisbon and passenger Michelle Pinette, 39, of Durham were riding a 2003 Suzuki Intruder heading west on School Street toward Route 196 when Houle lost control of the bike and struck a tree head-on, according to the release.
Lt. Dan Michel said that Houle failed to stop at a stop sign, which is when he lost control of the motorcycle.
The call came in at 8:07 p.m., and Sgt. Ryan McGee and Officer Ellen Stewart responded to the scene.
Both Houle and Pinette were seriously injured in the crash. According to the release, they were taken by Lisbon Emergency to Central Maine Medical Center.
Charges of an OUI are pending until Houle is released from the hospital, according to Michel. The motorcycle was totaled.
Lisbon police and fire departments as well as Lisbon Emergency responded to the scene.
