Mystery photo for February 28, 2016

There were numerous entries from Buckfield residents and a few out-of-towners who recognized the mystery photo last week, taken from inside the Buckfield Town Office. Chosen in a random drawing, the winner, Leah Frechette, wrote: “This week’s mystery photo is the bicentennial quilt and shadow box display of old wooden items on the wall of the Buckfield Municipal Building. Several quilters in town each made squares that make up the quilt to celebrate Buckfield’s 200th birthday in 1993. It includes Union church, also known as ‘the old church on the hill,’ where my husband and I were married 42 years ago. The municipal building is where I attended school grades 1-6. I now go there to register vehicles and pay my taxes. I have been a resident of Buckfield my entire life. The wooden items were made at the wood-turning mill, also in Buckfield.” Frechette is the winner of a $10 Subway gift card.
