FARMINGTON — Local police are searching for a light-colored pickup truck that struck a cruiser early Thursday morning on Farmington Falls Road, Police Chief Jack Peck said.

A prisoner in the back seat of the cruiser was not hurt, he said, but there was an estimated $3,000 damage to the front fender and mirror of the 2014 Ford Interceptor. The truck has passenger-side damage, he said.

Officer Derrick Doucette stopped an eastbound vehicle being driven erratically about 1:15 a.m. near Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service at 488 Farmington Falls Road, Peck said. The female driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was placed in the back seat of the cruiser, which had blue lights flashing.

While Doucette was parking the woman’s car at the funeral home, he heard a loud crash and discovered the cruiser had been hit, Peck said.

Deputy Sandy Burke of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Peck said anyone with information about the truck is asked to call Burke at 778-2680 or the Police Department at 778-6311.
