1931 – 2016
AUBURN — Lester F. Johnson, 84, of Poland went to heaven on Sunday, Feb. 21, after wonderful care at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, following a long illness with cancer.
Lester was born May 20, 1931, in Norway, the son of the late Henry and Estella (Smith) Johnson.
He was educated in Auburn schools and worked at Parson Brothers Grain Mill until its closing. He then retired from Pioneer Plastics after 25 years.
He married the former Beulah Austin in 1953.
Lester was a member of the First Assembly of God Church for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beulah Johnson, of Poland; a daughter, Lori Boulanger and her husband, Jeffrey, of Gray; a brother, George and his wife, Carol, of Minot; two sisters, Jeannette, of Lyman, and Carol and her husband, Jeffrey, of Auburn; a cousin, Jim, whom he loved like a son and his wife, Kathy, of Leeds; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Robert; and by three sisters, Virginia, Connie and Pamela.
