SOUTH PARIS — Deborah J. Irish, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with loving family at her side.

Deb was born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Armand and Shirley (Hazelton) Norton Sr.

She was a 1974 graduate of Oxford Hills High School.

She had worked at Supreme Slipper in Auburn, Eastland Shoe in Freeport, and the L.L.Bean warehouse in Freeport. In more recent years, she had worked with her father, Sonny Norton, at Sonny’s Car Wash in South Paris, Norway Footwear, and Northern Bedrooms in Oxford.

She enjoyed crafts and loved taking care of her gardens.

Deb is survived by her husband of 40 years, Woody Irish of South Paris; a son, Scott Irish of South Paris; a daughter, Heather Fickett and her husband, Jonathan, of South Paris; a brother, Armand Norton Jr. of South Paris; a sister, Brenda Brackett of Auburn; a stepson, Butch Irish and his wife, Lisa, of Greene; two stepdaughters, Valarie Irish of Lewiston, and Maureen Ray and her husband, Bert, of Greene; a half-brother, Alan Hazelton and his wife, Peggy, of South Paris; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Deb is predeceased by a brother, Kenny; and a sister, Cindy.
