SABATTUS — The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday appointed four residents to the Budget Committee and are seeking three more.

Ronda Fournier and Nicholas Gayton were appointed to one-year terms and Connie Castonguay and Richard Lacombe to two-year terms.

There are still three vacancies on the committee and Town Manager Tony Ward is asking for volunteers. The committee meets five or six times to develop a budget to present at town meeting, he said.

The board unanimously decided to hold a workshop to examine the town’s growth potential and to identify the goals and objectives related to it. It is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Town Hall and is open to the public.

Norm LaPlante proposed a preliminary design for a gazebo at the Town Hall. The 10- by 24-foot structure could be used for concerts and festivals, Ward said. Private donations are expected to be the main source of support for the project.

The board held an executive session to discuss labor negotiations.

Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Town Hall.
