Society celebrating Valentine’s Day

LISBON — The Lisbon Historical Society will hold its annual Valentine’s Party and Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Members and guests will meet at 7 p.m. in the society’s meeting rooms at the MTM Center in Lisbon Falls. Entrance and parking are at the rear of the building.

Antique Valentine cards will be on display, and members are invited to bring hand­made Valentine cards to exchange. There will also be a slideshow of recently acquired historical photos from the Lisbon area.

This is also the month for members to pay annual dues. Secretary/Treasurer Dorothy Smith can provide membership status and accept dues payments at the meeting.

Refreshments will be served, and members are urged to bring Valentine-­themed food items for the refreshment table.

Chocolate Lover’s Fling Feb. 10

AUBURN — The Auburn Republican Committee’s first fundraiser of 2016 will be a Chocolate Lover’s Fling from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Sapphire Nightclub & Event Center, 150 Center St.

Fifty percent of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Women, Infants and Children’s Education and Training program.
