RUMFORD — Black Mountain of Maine plans to introduce a new pass so skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes any two Fridays throughout the season, with lunch provided.
Marketing Director Deanna Kersey said that “over the years, our glade skiing has unquestionably increased.”
“We now have 14 glades in addition to our 35 alpine trails,” she said. “Generally, Black Mountain isn’t being skied on Monday through Thursday, and when it snows all week, skiing at Black Mountain on a Friday is like a powder hound’s gold mine.”
She said volunteers who call themselves the Angry Beavers of Black Mountain Maine have spent well over 600 hours of work cutting the glades and creating more areas for people to ski and snowboard.
Kersey said the new pass, called the Friday Freshies Two-Day Pass, allows people to ski any Friday throughout the ski season, with lunch provided.
“Every two weeks, the Friday Freshies Two-Day Pass deal changes,” Kersey said. “People can go on Black Mountain’s website to see what the next deal is going to be.”
