AUBURN — Proceeds from a spaghetti supper and raffle will assist medical expenses and monthly travel to the Boston Children’s Hospital for Shayna Newton, who has Rasmussen’s encephalitis.
Rasmussen’s encephalitis is a rare disorder of the central nervous system occurring mostly in children between the ages of 2 and 10. The cause of this disorder is not known.
The benefit will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at the VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave. The supper will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The raffle will be held at 6:30 p.m., and the winner does not need to be present to win.
The menu will include spaghetti, meatballs, macaroni and cheese, casseroles, salad, sides, dessert, beverages and a cash bar. Meals will be available for take-out.
Admission costs $7 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be available at the door.
