1930 – 2016
PORTLAND — Ruth L. Harradon, 85, a resident of Auburn and a former resident of South Monmouth, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in South Portland on July 3, 1930, the daughter of Morris and Gladys (Keeler) Keene. Ruth attended school in South Portland, Buxton and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1952. She attended one year at Farmington Normal School.
On May 27, 1950, in Westbrook, Ruth married Donald E. Harradon. He passed away Dec. 25, 2015. She worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Richard Barron and his family for 27 years. She enjoyed camping in Rangeley and also with friends in Vermont and New York.
Ruth and Don loved his motorcycle and they took many trips out of state on it.
She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Barbara and Richard Wardwell of Litchfield, Patti and Bruce Skidgell of Monmouth, and Sharon and Dana Cloutier of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Thomas Harradon of San Antonio, Texas, and James Harradon of Bangor; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Keene and his wife, Carleen, of Oxford, and Russell Keene of Wisconsin; and a sister, Barbara Hawkes and her husband, Al, of Westbrook.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Donald; and her daughter, Louise Sanborn.
