BETHEL — Adlin Chaparin scored 11 points, leading Winthrop (1-10) to a 37-27 victory over winless Telstar (0-11) in a girls’ basketball game Monday. It was the first varsity win for the Ramblers in over three seasons.

Winthrop took the year off from varsity last season and played only a junior varsity schedule.

Danielle McClure, Katie Perkins and Layne Audet each had six points for the Ramblers. Telstar got seven from Becca Howard and Sadie Richardson.

Winthrop jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the first quarter and expanded the advantage to 23-13 by halftime. Telstar rallied with an 11-5 third quarter and were within 28-24 entering the fourth. The Ramblers finished off the victory, outscoring Telstar 9-3 in the final quarter.

Oak Hill 46, St. Dom’s 30

WALES — Bri Mulherin scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Sara Noel added 11, steering Oak Hill to a 46-30 win over St. Dom’s in a girls’ basketball game Monday.

By the end of the first half, the Raiders (6-6) led 25-13. Grace Sabine pulled down seven rebounds and scored four points for Oak Hill.

For the Saints (5-6), Caroline Gastonguay scored eight points.

Carrabec 42, Mt. Abram 21

NORTH ANSON — The Carrabec Cobras pulled away in the second half as they out scored the Mt. Abram Roadrunners 25-7 en route to the 42-21 victory in a girls’ basketball contest.

Liberty Chestnut dropped 13 points to lead the Cobras (7-4) while Mickayla Willette finished the game with nine points.

The Roadrunners (3-9) were led by Marya Beedy who had five points while Summer Ross had four points.

Mountain Valley 70, Hall-Dale 36

RUMFORD — The Mountain Valley Falcons had three girls in double figures in the 70-36 victory over the Hall-Dale Bulldogs.

Liza White led all scorers with 18 points, five steals and eight rebounds for the Falcons (11-1). Ashley Russell dropped in 13 points while having six steals. Sydney Petrie had 11 points, grabbing seven rebounds and eight assists.

The Bulldogs (4-8) were paced by Dani Sweet who had 14 points and Sidney Perry who had 10 points.

Boys’ basketball

Oak Hill 62, St. Dom’s 36

WALES — Marcus Bailey scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Oak Hill rolled to a 62-36 win over St. Dom’s in a boys’ basketball game Monday.

The Raiders (3-9) led 28-12 by the half. Dalton Therrien helped out with his six steals and eight points. Connor Elwell threw in 11 points. For the Saints (0-12), Sam Rines scored 14 points.
