HI SUN SPOTS! For anyone interested in the knitting patterns, as you discussed in the column on Jan. 1, the correct web address for the Yarmouth History Center is www.yarmouthmehistory.org/knit-a-piece-of-history/. — Chelsie DiConzo, Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: As of Dec. 18, 2015, Medical Rehabilitation Associates in Lewiston has been closed. I have been trying to find out where Dr. Karyn Woelflein has relocated, but I have had no luck. There was some mention of her online in Bangor, but not enough information to try to contact her. I was hoping you or your readers would have an idea where to find her. Thank you for any help you can give. — Jen, 207-364-2207.
RESPONSE: Sun Spots hopes Dr. Woelflein sees this and calls you. Thank you for including a phone number so readers can call you directly.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am so disappointed that Delorme has stopped publishing the Maine Geographic calendar. It has been a favorite for many years. In addition to the beautiful photos, I especially enjoyed sunrise, sunset and tide times. Is anyone aware of other Maine calendars that include this information on a daily basis? Thanks for your help. — Call 207-786-3929 or email ruthcannon@roadrunner.com.
ANSWER: Sun Spots knows that many gardening calendars include the type of information you are seeking. Have you seen “The Old Farmer’s Almanac 2016 Gardening Calendar” in stores such as Books-A-Million at the Auburn Mall, Walmart or Barnes & Noble? It is also available at more than 10 online stores. You can also call Geiger Customer Service at 1-888-953-9340.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read an article quickly in Sun Spots, I believe, at some point in December. I thought I made a note to save it and did not. As best I can recall it was about a husband/wife team who collected items for those in need at Christmas. The toys and clothing were displayed on designated tables for the “shoppers” to choose from. I think they were given tickets and allowed X amount of items. If the husband/wife team take used items of good quality/condition, we have a lot of items to donate. Thank you. Contact Stephanie at mainegourmet@roadrunner.com or 207-783-8472.
ANSWER: You may be remembering an article that published in the Sun Journal Connections section in early December. The husband/wife team is made up of Bruce Willson, co-director of Hope House with his wife Jan. They hosted a free Toy Shop for parents on a first-come, first-served basis. For more info on the free Toy Shop, call Hope House, 91 College St. in Lewiston, at 207-577-1165.
