RUMFORD — The Board of Selectmen will present the Citizen of the Year award to Richard Lovejoy at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, in the Rumford Falls Auditorium.
Selectmen unanimously selected Lovejoy from among four candidates at their Dec. 17, 2015, meeting. Lovejoy was nominated by Bob and Louise Stickney, last year’s recipients.
Lovejoy has volunteered and served with several organizations, including the River Valley Growth Council, the River Valley Technical Center, the Maine Adaptive Ski Program, the Rumford Hospital board of directors and the Rumford Performing Arts Committee.
The board will also vote on whether to submit a letter of intent to apply for a Community Development Block Grant to help improve downtown infrastructure.
Other items on the agenda include:
* Approval of liquor license and special amusement permit for Hotel Rumford.
* Approval of Urban Development Action Grant loan, mortgage deed and promissory note for Constance Arsenault, doing business as Connie’s Place.
* Signing of Public Works union contract.
* Approval of equal priority and intercreditor agreement between the town and the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments concerning loans to Moon Tide Springs Inc. and Jean Castonguay.
