LIVERMORE FALLS — Police arrested two local teenagers Tuesday night in connection with the attempted robbery of an 85-year-old man on Sewall Street on Dec. 7.

A 15-year-old boy from Livermore Falls was arrested on a charge of felony robbery, and a 17-year-old boy, also of Livermore Falls, was arrested on a felony charge of robbery as an accomplice, Lt. Joseph Sage said.

The gun that was pointed at the man through the door was a .45-caliber replica pellet gun, he said.

The boys were released to their parents with bail conditions. They are scheduled to appear Feb. 2 in juvenile court at the District Court in Lewiston.

The younger teen is accused of going to the door of the man’s house at 10:30 p.m., wearing a black hoodie and black mask covering his nose and mouth, according to police.

The male asked the victim for all of his money, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. previously said.

The suspect, who also appeared to have a small automatic pistol, tried to push his way into the man’s house, but the victim shut the door to keep the suspect outside. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim through the door and fled on foot, Steward had said.
