PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce announces the 2016 Business and Community Award winners. The winners will be honored during the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

“Every year, we solicit nominations for our annual awards from our members as well as members of the general public,” explained John Williams, executive director of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce. “All the nominations are reviewed by the board of directors and then voted on by secret ballot during the board meeting.”

The Business of the Year is Maine Machine Products, which has been a part of the Oxford Hills community for more than 50 years. The company is a leading diversified manufacturer of high-tolerance, precision-machined components and assemblies and employs 135 people.

The Rising Star of the Year is C & C Farm of Norway. The farm sells its all-natural meat products at its storefront on Main Street in Norway. The farm’s owner, Mike Cullinan, also created space adjacent to his storefront for Old Squire’s Farm Market, a year-round indoor farmers market.

The Employee of the Year is Gail Castonguay, a registered nurse with Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice. She started working for the agency in 1983 and is the manager and supervisor of the Norway office.

The Community Service Award Winner is Wayne Gallant. Gallant is an Army veteran who currently serves as the Oxford County Sheriff. He has worked in law enforcement for 40 years and is serving his third four-year term as sheriff.
