FARMINGTON — A man faces a terrorizing charge after inappropriate comments were made to a convenience store clerk Monday night.
Craig Snyder, 42, of Bloomfield, Conn., and a friend went into a Main Street store around 11 p.m. where a young, female clerk was working alone.
Snyder, believed to have been drinking, started making comments about how the clerk should come with them and how they should take the clerk with them, said Bonnie Pomeroy, Farmington Police Department secretary. There was no physical contact with the clerk, who remained behind the store counter.
Some other customers came into the store and the two men left. But, the frightened clerk couldn’t tell if they stayed around outside, she said.
The clerk called police and from store surveillance and her description, they found Synder’s vehicle at a local motel, Pomeroy said. Snyder’s friend told police that Snyder is a harmless jokester who had had too much to drink, she said.
After talking with Snyder, Sgt. Michael Adcock arrested him on the charge, and he was taken to Franklin County Detention Center.
