FARMINGDALE — Sandra Donaghy, wife of Ron Donaghy, died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 18, at her home.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 1, 1951, a daughter of William and Ruth (Leighton) Greenlaw.
Sandra was from a family of 13 brothers and sisters; nine of which are deceased, as well as her parents. Sandy grew up in Auburn and attended schools there until she met her husband, Ron, and lived in Farmingdale until her death.
She had worked with her husband at Donaghy Coastal Garage in Farmingdale for 23 years. After Ron’s retirement, she was employed with the Maine Turnpike Authority for 10 years until she retired.
Sandra also was very close to her pets, especially Chico and spoke of him often. She loved going snowmobiling and taking in all of the beauty where the rides would take her. She also loved traveling, visiting Alaska and Hawaii and many other places. She loved having the deer and turkeys come and eat in her back yard.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald A. Donaghy, whom she married in 1971; two sisters, Mary Haskell and Robert Greenlaw; two brothers, John and David Greenlaw; her stepdaughter, Laurie Donaghy; step-grandchildren, Taylor and Brady; step-great-grandchild, Cassidy; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kendall and Deanna Clark; and many nieces and nephews, who she was fond of and had great affection for.
