PHILLIPS — A local man is accused of driving a car toward his father-in-law and hitting his truck, Franklin County Lt. David Rackliffe said Friday.

Deputy Nicholas Zecher, the investigator, arrested Joshua A. Kelley, 33, on Wednesday on a felony charge of aggravated reckless conduct, he said.

Kelley and his wife were arguing and she called her father, Rackliffe said. When her father arrived, Kelley and his father-in-law got into a verbal argument. Kelley drove his car toward him and stopped. His father-in-law put his hands on the hood of the car and Kelley drove forward striking his father-in-law’s pickup truck, Rackliffe said.

Kelley left the residence and was arrested after he returned. He was taken to the Franklin County jail in Farmington.

Kelley was expected to appear before a judge Friday. He is also being held on a probation hold for an unrelated matter.

A conviction on the aggravated reckless conduct charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
