1948 – 2015

LEWISTON — Patrick L. Malier, 67, of Lewiston passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Casco on March 17, 1948, a son of the late John and Grace (Harmon) Malier. He grew up in the Casco area and attended local schools there.

After high school, Patrick spent a great amount of time working with his father, raising horses with various breeders and getting them ready for sulky racing. He enjoyed doing that and spending time with his dad.

For many years, he worked as a forklift driver for White Rock Distilleries in Lewiston. While working there, he would eventually meet and marry Louise (Bonneau) Cunningham on Aug. 27, 2007, and they made their home in Lewiston. The two of them spent many wonderful years together, and Pat always took great pride and pleasure in doing the landscaping and yardwork at their home. He would even help out some of his neighbors with their yardwork as well.

He is survived by his loving wife, Louise of Lewiston; his stepchildren, Eric Pedersen of Lewiston, and Katharine Noonan of South Portland. He also leaves behind his siblings, Dot Rolfe of Poland, Josephine Malier of Troy, Pa., Pamela Koumelainen of South Paris, and Theodore Malier of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
