Yarmouth fire and police departments responded to a report of an unknown substance spill from a tanker truck at the Interstate 295 Park and Ride on Thursday.

After establishing a perimeter, evacuating the area and investigating the spill — police identified the spilled liquid as milk, according to the Town of Yarmouth Fire Rescue Facebook page.

There was no reports of anyone crying over the spill.

According to environmental regulations, Maine Department of Environmental Protection supervised the carrier’s cleanup. The Facebook page did not say if cookies were used to sop up the milk.

The spill was determined to be caused by a pressure build up after the tank was overfilled.
