I think the Lewiston mayoral ballot counters are cruising. They said 10 or so, but I’m thinking 9 or so? #mepolitics

LEWISTON — A huge voter turnout Tuesday in the city’s mayoral runoff election may surpass turnout in the Nov. 3 general election.
Incumbent Mayor Robert Macdonald and challenger Ben Chin are vying to claim the mayor’s chair in Lewiston.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. City Clerk Kathy Montejo said that she and her staff had printed 6,500 ballots for Tuesday’s vote.
Combined with nearly 3,000 absentee and early ballots cast last week Montejo said she was prepared for to go slightly beyond the Nov. 3 vote totals, when voters cast 8,393 ballots.
