Coach: A.J. Kavanaugh (first year)
Region/Class: Northern Maine Class A
Last year’s record: 3-15
Key returning athletes: Seniors – Austin Fournier (forward), Andrew Gardiner (defense); Juniors – Ryler Austin (defense), Tyler Halls (forward), Mark Abreu (forward), Steven Schuman (forward), Parker Lacey (goalie).
Key losses: Ben Bishop, Tyler O’Connor, Kyle Lussier, Jon Roux.
Promising newcomers: Sophomore – Sam Alexander (forward); Freshmen – Noah Austin (forward), Cade Charron (goalie).
Season outlook: The Eagles return a large part of last year’s roster, but they are still young in experience. The team has a new coach in former Mt. Ararat player A.J. Kavanaugh, who hopes to lead the Eagles to their first playoff berth in more than a decade. Depth and a top line featuring Abreu, Halls and Noah Austin can help get them to that goal. The defense is big and strong, and the team has a pair of capable goalies in Lacey and Charron.
