St. Dom’s enjoyed a winning season and played well in its preliminary round game against a Maranacook team that advanced all the way to the regional championship round.
Six of the Saints’ top seven players and the head coach from that team are gone, leaving new boss Jake Webb with a work in progress. St. Dom’s should be solid defensively but may struggle on the offensive end early in the season.
Mike Bryant and Becket Wagner did the bulk of the scoring last year. While the Saints don’t have a natural successor in that role, Webb is hopeful that Sam Rines or Camden Jalbert will pick up the slack.
Webb said that his team is a close-knit group that has improved with each practice and game in the preseason. The top clubs in the MVC may be out of reach at this point, but the Saints should be competitive with the middle of the pack once again.
